I awake at the sound of howling, on a cold, frigid shoreline. The icy wind blowing snow flecks into my stark black hair. "H-how, how did I get here?" I think, as I open my dark steel eyes, and see the frigid and frozen trees. I look up, a foreboding gray sky and a huge blue spire tower up above me. The howls continue. I attempt to rise from the slick ground but my sore and aching body refuses. I am stuck. I strain to remember how I got here, but the only things in my blank mind are two very simple sentences. I am Aaron Lycan. And I am Alone.

The light above was flickering. I could still tell with this bag over my head. My cuffs rattled around my wrists and arms. They were reinforced steel, military grade. Suddenly, the bag was removed, and a bright light was shined into my eyes. Instinctively, they shut to prevent blindness. Eventually, I squinted to see what was in front of me. There sat a figure with their hands together. By the looks, it seemed to be a woman. At her side were two men armed to the teeth. I glanced at the lady's bodyguards. Obviously they were recruits. Then the lady spoke. Lady:"Greetings." I remained silent. Lady:"You don't have to say anything. Just listen." She placed a tablet on the table. The screen turned on to reveal several images. Lady:"I'm here to make you a deal. Work for me, and my people will help you reach your goals." I continued to remain silent. She sighed and then tapped the screen. It revealed another image that interested me greatly. Lady:"This will be apart of the deal too." She pulled out a paper and pen. Lady:"Sign here." I broke free of my cuffs. The guards gasped in shock. I picked up the pen and signed my name. Then I sat back. The lady sat back and put her hands together. Lady:"Welcome to Team Rainbow, Heaven's Reaper." Archaica, an ancient land coursing with old Maegic, is a world with many stories to tell. Created by an all powerful Goddess and filled with many peoples, beasts, and the ongoing struggle between good and evil. In it's infancy the world breeds much fantastical legend and adventure, but as it's history progresses, and it's inhabitants move further and further away from old ways, the world itself molds to reciprocate those changes. With the ever waning presence of the Goddesses' influence, evil blooms in her absence and it is up to Archaica's many heroes to strike back against the darkness. Archaica is a world created by myself in my youth. A place where all my stories and ideas could manifest. A fantasy world at it's core, filled with all you would come to expect. Maegic, Elves, Dwarves, adventure, etc. all make appearances in my stories. Over the years since my childhood this world has expanded, and continues to grow to this day. "The Tales and Histories of Archaica" is my attempt to collect these short stories, essays, and tales in one work. Most stories will be complete in themselves, but most all are linked in some way. This an ongoing endeavor as I continue to imagine, write, and collaborate.
