Love & Monsters is a story I worked on when I took my first novel writing class at UCLA. Since I lost my sister to suicide, I've been fascinated with exploring mental illness and providing any insight I can to eradicate the stigma. Love & Monsters follows Heather Bateman, a girl who has suffered from schizophrenia all her life but has only recently been diagnosed. She tries to socially recover from a very public mental breakdown with the help of her best friend Wren and a strange new boy who calls himself Nex.

Lately, everyone's in love, in relationships. But for Willow, the school's singer/songwriter, it's all good though. She has her guitar and her notepad; Music. All she ever thought she needed. But on that Wednesday, when the shy boy with the fedora arrives, she convinces herself that he's the same as any other guy. Although, there's something about this guy that makes her want to open up her heart to him. Will he be the answer to all of her questions? Or will she choose her head over heart? *before FOB days*

SEQUEL After the Discomposed Composers tour comes to a close, Cole Wentz returns to Chicago, Illinois with confidence, a self esteem, and a ring on her finger, courtesy of Mr. Patrick Stump. The two build their lives together, getting married and eventually having a daughter named Maya Alison Stump. Everything is going well. Or so they thought. But then family finds out that there was an emergency evacuation at the Metropolitan Correctional Centre in Chicago, leading to the escape of eight convicts- including none other than Derek Skinner; the cause for all her suffering in her teen years. Cole convinces herself that everything will be okay, and for a short period of time, it is. That is until the police find dead bodies of people that once played a role in his demise. Petrified, Cole faces the decision of putting her family in more danger by staying with then or doing what she does best. Getting lost.
