It all started with a simple childhood crush. When Allison reached college, she masked her true self by pretending to be a nerd. This made her a target for bullies and drew unwanted attention. However, her mysterious classmate, Daniel, always stepped in to rescue her. Daniel is drawn to her even though she appears ridiculous. Meanwhile, Allison has a childhood sweetheart, Devin, who has yet to confess his feelings. He finally plans to do so on her a18th birthday, September 28, after more than six years of longing. On September 12, the bullies kidnapped Allison and Daniel to punish them for shaming them. They left them stranded on a deserted island. The truth soon emerges: they thought they had kidnapped a nerd, but Allison is actually the school owner's daughter and an heir. Panicked, the kidnappers returned to the island to finish them off, unaware that Daniel was a mafia prince. Now, the stakes are higher. Devin must do everything possible to find Allison, who must decide whether to remain protected and risk becoming a liability or to learn how to fight alongside the mafia prince.

This is the first thing i have published online since a very bad Buffy FanFic that we shall never discuss. Be gentle please? Constructive criticism appreciated, But this comes from within me, and I am going through some heavy stuff right now. It's just important for me to try, and I want this to be my first Thing. The name and some other phrases are related to a song by "The Dresden Dolls" called "Dirty Business" and has references to Amanda Palmer, one of the duo of said band, And who is my favorite person in the world. It is dedicated to her as well as two other people. This poem and the song have very different meanings and themes. The cover picture and picture at the beginning of the story are screen shots from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", and I hope I am allowed to use it. I think they go well with the poems content. It's about two people who love each other very deeply, and help each other and are so present in each others lives. I wrote this in mind for an old friend, who sadly I am currently no longer talking with. I also wrote it with my Dad in my heart, who died of cancer when i was very little. I wrote this originally 2/5/2016, but have since edited it. This is about love. Not necessarily romantic love. But genuinely caring for a person with your entire being. I hope you guys like it.
