It is finally the first day of High school for Luna Jones, but when she notices a purple eyed girl watching her from the other side of the lunch room, time stops and everything changes.

The year is 2089, and North and South America have been scorched by deadly fires. These fires have left the land barren, and civilization small. The fires have rekindled however, and it's up to Naomi, an adopted teenage girl, to save what once was called the promise land. But there's more to it than just flames. Naomi will discover an uncomfortable truth, one connects her to the Fires.
