Due to some freak accident at the Travis Scott concert, he has now been reincarnated in another world. Where Kings have crowns, he's got waves. Still, the inability to understand, won't stop him from protecting those he cherishes, even at the cost of his sanity. In a village filled with Oni who despise the weak. And adore the strong. What if the Vainglory Factor latched onto Emilia when Pandora tried to erase her memories during the Elior Forest Permafrost? In this AU, Emilia has developed an Authority that helped her retain all her memories at the beginning of the story. How will she evolve as a character? Will Subaru still simp on this version of her ? (Yes, ofc he will) One thing's for sure: her path to becoming Queen of Lugunica will be far more arduous than in the original story. (TL;DR : Emilia is immune to Return By Death, and many other things) Note : That's my first fanfic ever, I'll try to stick to canon concepts as much as I can. Through the harsh enviroment and the looming threats Natsuki Subaru is forced to survive and come face with a harsh reality. Will he lose himself in the process or will he remain himself? This separate entry exists for the purpose of the story's re-write (to fix typos, correct spelling, make names more consistent, etc), but also to preserve the comments from the older entry, and for the purpose of chapter consolidation (Wattpad has a limit of 200, and the main entry is already at 146). All chapters in the older entry will be in this entry in the form of "Volumes" that contain multiple chapters in one larger "chapter" (these chapters will still exist in the volumes of this entry). These newer, longer chapters improve immersion, descriptions, and character dialog/motives, they DO NOT add any new events or lore.
