After Barry and Caitlin's high school graduation, Barry makes the decision to go off to a college that's far from home, while Caitlin goes to college at Central City. Five years later in Central City, Caitlin has finished her studies and is currently living with her best friend, Iris West. Caitlin is also trying her best to land a job at STAR Labs, while Iris tries to get one at CCPN. A year after Caitlin and Iris get their dream jobs, a man from Caitlin's past runs into her. After a night of bliss together, the following night is unimaginable. The STAR Labs particle accelerator exploded, spreading a wave of dark matter throughout the city. Lots of lives were affected that night. Seven months later, however, a man in a coma is wheeled into the lab. His face is recognizable and his condition has consequences. But what happens when he begins growing feelings for a certain scientist. And it all started with a single song on karaoke night. This book mainly takes place during season 2.
