This is set around/during the two and a half year time skip - after Hinata asks Neji to train her - about a year into their training. Working tirelessly and relentlessly, Hinata pushes herself to become stronger - all under Neji's watchful eye. The Chunin exams are on the horizon once more, feeling more empowered she's sure she'll pass this time. The Yamada clan don't belong to any village, but they have Shinobi training in all of the five great hidden villages.
