Mel is known for her stubborn personality, her slightly eccentric tendencies, and her loud voice. But more than that, what separates her and her friends from the rest of the cold Wisconsin town around her, is their love of music- Korean music. When Mel goes on a trip to California to visit her Grandma, on a whim she decides to audition for SM Entertainment because she believes that she can help fix the only flaw in SM's music: their Engrish. She didn't actually think they'd accept her. After all, what place does a naturally blonde, gray-eyed, extremely obviously Caucasian girl have in the Korean music industry?
