Tockuri is one of these spirits, but has been accused of one of the worst crimes to be charged of as a spirit; to have possessed a human. Unlike the mortal world, where you are innocent until proven guilty, the spirit world is the other way around. Tockuri is banished from the spirit world and left in the human world to find a way to prove his innocence. But spirits can only live in the human world so long and survive. Either Tockuri proves he is not guilty and lifts his banishment, or his time runs out, and he ceases to exist.
