"Eli didn't see the light turn blue. The mist had silenced her screams, hands still on her friend's face, both of them covered in Max's blood." Eli Emory lost everything to the Republic, a government born of prejudice. They took the only things that ever mattered to her. Raised as a lady of the court, paraded in front of the world. A viola playing monkey for the king. Putting on a pretty face for the sake of her parents' reputatiom and the king's favor. Nothing in the world seemed better than escaping The Republic and finding what really mattered to her. Perhaps Eli should have been more careful with what she wished for. Can she trust the network of rebels and Abnormals any more than she can trust the world she was yes in? The rebels know more about Eli than she could ever imagine possible. If only they knew how to explain themselves.

The second my feet made contact with the prickly ground the fear of being caught finally hit me and shoved me forward, leading me to almost trip over myself as I ran from it all: the pain, the confinement, the fear. Only guilt I could not run from, escaping that would only be possible through revenge.

Each year, every twelve Districts must offer up one male and female tribute to fight in this pageant. A fight for glory, for honour, and a fight for their lives. This year is the second Quarter Quell, the fiftieth Hunger Games. And as a striking reminder, that two rebels died for every Capitol citizen, each District shall offer up twice as many tributes as usual. 48 tributes. 1 Victor. Let the fiftieth Hunger Games begin.

As President Hibernia Snow opens the envelope with the golden numbers 200, she grins widely. "To remind the Districts that repetition of history is to be feared, the Capitol will host a second Ultimate Games, for the 200th anniversary of the district rebellion." This story is HEAVILY based on @MadeInWicklow 's stories 'The ultimate games' and 'Dependence', and you should definitely go check them out. It's my view on how his story could have continued. (Although I don't even really use his characters, it takes place in his universe) The original concept for the Hunger Games of course belongs to Suzanne Collins and her books, and the idea for the Ultimate Games, as well as the 125th Hunger Games (which is mentioned very briefly in chapter one) belong to @MadeInWicklow
