Set in New York city at the turn of a century and based on a true story, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged 'newsies' who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. But when publishing titans Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise distribution prices at the newsboys' expense, Jack finds a cause to fight for and rallies newsies from across the city to strike and take a stand for what's right. (Script transcribed by me with the help of the online script Disney released a while ago. You can kind of tell when I crapped out on the titles lol. Warnings: I do inflict my ships upon this writing. It also has not been fully edited. I do pay more attention to some characters than others based upon how close I hold them to my heart.) When Davey's father recovers from his injury and is able to go back to work, Davey and Les no longer have to stay newsies. Les, of course, begs Davey to let him stay, to which Davey reluctantly gives in, but only until the start of next school year. Davey, on the other hand, feels the need to finish his education to be able to get a teaching job, something he's always been passionate about. He entrusts Les's safety to Jack and Y/n, who both happily accept. However, Davey leaving also means Y/n loses one of their closest friends, and maybe something a little more?

y/n is a 17 year old girl who lived in Brooklyn with her brother Spot Conlon. Her best friends are Jack Kelly, Crutchie, Race, Les, and the one and only Davey Jacobs.
