Olivia's best friend is not imaginary. He’s not a ghost, either. And she's pretty sure he's not a hallucination. He’s just Mason. He is, however, invisible. When Olivia spotted the crying little boy on her front porch at five years old, she had no idea she was the only one who could see him. Twelve years later when new-girl Robin bumps into the both of them and introduces herself to Mason, they are both stunned. Mason couldn't be more pleased that someone else can see him. Olivia, on the other hand, isn't jumping at the chance to welcome Robin into their circle. Jealousy may have something to do with that, but honest fear that Robin's presence will put Mason in danger is soon validated when a strange black car begins showing up everywhere. The race to find out what Robin knows in time to protect Mason from whatever threats are coming becomes Olivia's only focus.

It could be positive, and it could also be negative. But sometimes you just have to take a chance and open yourself to every possibility. "Do you want a kiss?" I asked giving him an innocent smile. He gave me a toothy grin, making him look even hotter, if that was even possible. "Close your eyes." I told him soothingly. He shut his eyes and leaned forward, puckering his lips like a duck. I grabbed a chocolate kiss out of my purse and put it gently on my seat in the movie theater. Then, I shut my eyes, massaged my temples, and left the poor boy hanging. Actually, wait no, let me rephrase that sentence. I shut my eyes, massaged my temples and left the bad boy hanging. His eyes were still squeezed shut, lips puckered, waiting for the kiss. I mentally cackled my rich evil laugh, and exited the movie theater. -- Becca Monroe believes that no "bad boy" deserves the attention they get. Including the bad boy at her school. Alex Rider. So her friends put her up to a dangerous dare. All she has to do is to make the bad boy fall in love with her, using chocolate kisses. But wait. That's not all. Then break his heart. When Becca's twin sister Reagan has her heart broken by Alex, Becca decides she's had enough. Girls shoudn't have to put up with a boy like him. Alex breaks hearts all around the world. Agreeing to the dare, Becca tries to give Alex the treatment he's been giving to girls all around. The heartbreak treatment. If he works up the courage to ask one out their only response is a swift overlook of his body, a dissatisfied lip curl and the tilting back of their head, and an "I've already got a boyfriend, sorry." His best friend Taylor is prepared to help him out. "The problem, Ray, is that you do not get the gay," she explained, pacing around the room as a military commander would while Ray sat on his bed, both his eyebrows raised up slightly and his hazel eyes holding both amusement and interest. "That's quite concerning seeing as you are gay-but we'll get to that later. The basic thing you need to understand is that your friend Tay gets the gay, which in turn will help you, Ray, get the lay, instead of the nay. Understand?"
