Octavia Sorrell, the Countess of Kendall, had been forced into marriage by her father and brother when she was only fifteen years old. Just after her sixteenth birthday, she gave birth to twins; Charles and Olivia. Two years later, after Lord Kendall's scandalous death, and fearing the gossip it had caused her, she began to live the life of a recluse, only visiting her closest neighbours, Sir Freddie Sommerville and his wife and old school friend, Katie. However, when Charles was ten years old and woefully underprepared for the vigours of an English aristocratic education at Eton, Freddie, who was also her son's guardian persuades her to employ a tutor for her son, to prepare him for school. Captain Alexander Fallbrook, after returning a hero from the battle of Waterloo, was living the life of a libertine. His family, embarrassed by his latest exploits, decided that the best course of action was to send him far away from London. His mother, the Countess of Huntingdon, heard of a position as a tutor for a young lad in Yorkshire, far away from the temptations of town, and she encouraged him to apply for the position. When Alex arrived in Yorkshire, he was somewhat taken by the beautiful young Countess and decided that his time in the country may not be as dull as he first expected. However, as he became better acquainted with the young widow, he recognised a fellow soul in torment. Can Alex overcome four years of guilt, or will he be unable to let go of the past to embrace his future?

The only daughter (and youngest child) of Lord and Lady Whittaker, twenty year old Gloriana reveled in her third season amongst high society London. With a marriage proposal all but verbally uttered, and very much anticipated by the ton, she had never been happier. But, sometimes, things are just too good to be true, and a vicious kick back to reality was in the cards for Miss Gloriana. Heart broken and bitter, she returns to her mother's side at their country estate, where her life takes a few rather unexpected turns. ~A regency era romance~ •Jane Austen/Charlotte Bronte inspired story• Edge= to excite, stimulate, or provoke If you're like me, you loved 'Pride and Prejudice', 'Sense and Sensibility', and 'Jane Eyre'. It's so easy to get lost in time while reading about life in the age where men were (mostly) gentleman, where lavish balls were frequent, and when there was a season in London where the gentry and well mannered people got together to gossip and form relationships. Also, if you're like me, all of those super inaccurate, pseudo regency period romance stories probably make you want to weep all over your Mr.Darcy body pillow. And that's not to say I don't read them, I still do, cause I'll take what I can get. I'm also not insinuating there aren't great, truly well written regency period stories on here either. I feel grateful to have found a few so far, and I really appreciate the authors who wrote them. But I couldn't help but try my hand at writing something I'd really enjoy reading. Something a bit more accurate than most. Still a little overdone, still has everything you want in a good regency era love story, but it shouldn't turn you into a Bertha Mason out of frustration. Any comments are appreciated! ♡JordynBH

Captain Cole Stanley was a man bound to the sea and lands beyond the stifling industry of London. There was no space in his busy lifestyle for a woman, especially not a prim little miss like Oriana Brightmore. Yet despite her shyness, there appeared to be an underlying wit and spirit to her personality that Cole begins to find irresistible. Oriana always thought that her future-husband should be charming and even-tempered; none of which belonged to Captain Stanley- the odious guest residing with the Ashcroft's for a short spell. Although the obnoxious man vexed her beyond reason, he also may just be her only solution to finding a man who will want her- one that was currently on his way to the Americas.

"There's no sane way to say 'oh hey! I'm from a century and a half in the future. No big deal, have fun with World War One!'" "A century and a half?" Vincent repeated. "World War One?!" Nathanael cried. "Exactly!" Jane yelled "And on top of that, you're saying that I'm a fucking witch? It's unbelievable!" Jane Wood, a 'normal' twenty year old woman, was just trying to live her life. The last thing she needs is to get thrown 134 years in the past and find out that she's a witch, but fate is a bitch. In the words of our venerable protagonist: "Fuck." Yes, dear reader, I am aware that the description is terrible. I write stories, not descriptions. Please give it a chance anyway.
