Mackenzie Ziegler is a perfectly happy woman, living in sunny Los Angeles with her best friend Lauren Orlando. Her singing career is just getting started, and she's being offered gigs that artists twice her age haven't had the chance to do yet. Life for her? Well it's going great... until the day where everything comes crashing down. Mackenzie gets diagnosed with Lupus, a disease that attacks her kidneys. Johnny Orlando finally opens it to find Mackenzie whos shaking, crying, and hysterical. Before Mackenzie even knows it, she blurts out her diagnosis story to a man she gets mixed signals from and has confused feelings towards. In a moment of desperation, Johnny offers her a kidney - but even that might not be enough. What if Lupus takes over more of Mackenzie's organs? Will they be able to set aside their differences for the sake of Mackenzie's health, career and life in general?
