Decidido, abandona su ciudad natal para desarrollar su pasión, a pesar de la resistencia de su padre. Allí conoce a Minho, quien le introduce en la sociedad del lugar, la cual gira en torno a los burdeles, y asi llega a ese en específico, un club que tiene sus propias reglas sobre el sexo, las drogas, la adrenalina y, sobre todo, el pole-dance. En su primera noche, conoce a Newt, la figura estelar del lugar, del que acaba enamorándose perdidamente. El problema es que Newt tiene prohibido enamorarse... Newt, la estrella más rutilante del Burdel mas famoso del lugar, encandila a toda la ciudad con sus bailes llenos de sensualidad y su enorme belleza. Atrapado entre el amor de dos hombres, un joven escritor y un hombre adinerado, lucha por hacer realidad su sueño de convertirse en actor. Newt is a reserved small boy who's rich British accent draws attention away from his noticeable limp. Thomas is a confident star athlete on the track team who also excels academically. The private campus of Southern New York Glade University is a place for fresh starts and big dreams. Now of course I guess nothing really turns out quite how it is in the movies... Exposed to the real world of heartbreak, secrets, agonizing classes and awkward encounters they both realize that the most important thing that anyone can have is someone to lean on, sometimes in Newt's case, literally.

Battling depression, Newt tries to ignore his feelings towards Thomas, which he is finding too difficult to handle. Conflicting with anxiety and insomnia, Thomas dates Teresa to hide his feelings from Newt.
