Kanan and Ezra go to investigate on a dangerous town on Lothal. Hera is worried about Ezra because that town is known for kidnapping. Kanan makes sure to keep a good eye on him. But when Ezra suddenly disappears, Kanan freaks out and searches desperately for his padawan. I DON'T OWN STAR WARS REBELS!!!!!!!!

Kanan in this story meets Ezra in an unexpected turn of events and not with the others. When the empire shoots down the ghost, Kanan falls off and the others are taken to a prison facility on the other side of lothal. Never having been on lothal before or on the streets with no supplies he meets Ezra, a street smart kid who knows lothal better than anyone. With Ezra's help Kanan makes his way to the other side of lothal and makes a surprising relationship.

Ezra reflects on his past. When Kanan is meditating he picks up some of it, what will Kanan think of Ezra? Will Ezra confess to the crew? The time is after Kanan was captured, but not including Fire across the Galaxy where they joined the rebellion and the Inquisitor dies. The inquisitor is alive and there isn't a larger rebellion. Ezra's past life is a mess I think we can all agree right? It doesn't help that he is reluctant to share it, especially with Kanan. In this story in a meditation class between Ezra and Kanan, Kanan picks up on Ezra's memories. He then spends extra (aka forced upon Ezra.) time with Ezra to help him get through as father and son.
