[Based on the universe from "The Gifts We Share"] "You're making everything more complicated." Tenebris is a kingdom with no allies and no known enemies. Due to their ability to completely sustain themselves, they've never had a need for allies. The king of said kingdom, Daniel Howell, has never had a need for either. He may be lonely at times, but he's never needed anyone before, so why would he need someone now? Nestled among the mountainous regions of the north lies Divum, a kingdom known for its superstition and love of magic. Its king, Phillip Lester, rules with a gentle hand. After a particularly difficult growing season, the kingdom faces the threat of food shortage and starvation. Without a drastic action, Divum will perish. Tenebris becomes the main target, King Daniel the subject of suspicion. Desperation settles in, and before he knows it Phil is heading out to Tenebris. "You're making things complicated because you're taking everything I thought I knew and turning it upside-down."

E D I T I N G Dan has a new neighbor. His new neighbor Phil who happens to be an insomniac who loves playing the violin in the dead of the night, baking cookies and who also has a cat who spends half of her time in Dan's house. Dan finds Phil very annoying but he really can't resist those blue-green eyes...

in a world where your moods are visible above your head, displayed through pictures and icons, it's impossible to hide your true feelings. however dan howell seems to be lacking this. labelled as an emotionless freak, dan is outcasted because his moods are never visible. that is, until an endlessly happy boy named phil wonders why.

After a horrible accident, Phil loses his sight and goes completely blind. Dan's help has been amazing to get him through it, but Dan can't help falling in love with his best friend - now in daily need of his care and attention. This story is about love and trust, and how two friends - much more than friends - overcome the odds of a disability, and how they realize that no matter how difficult it gets, they will always have each other.
