Eden Woods has spent his entire life searching for something. He spends his days working at a cafe in France, taking photos to pass the time, then going out on weekends, losing himself in the nights. Only, despite all the soul searching, he can never quite shake the feeling that he's missing something. Then, after a drunken, almost definitely accidental tattoo, Eden meets Avery. The one who did it. He's a tempest. Blustering and bold. Fiery and flirtatious. Avery Romano is a mystery in a bottle, and all Eden wants is to figure him out. Slowly, Eden starts to think that maybe Avery is exactly what he's been searching for. When Avery begins to frequent Eden's cafe, the two begin to forge a bond, and slowly but surely, their paths begin to grow together like intertwining vines climbing up the same wall. For a while, life goes on. Then obviously, things get complicated.

Jonathan hasn't been honest a single day in his life. All his friends, his smiles, and his zest for life are just a way of lying to himself and everyone else. Did he have a bit of an addiction to alcohol and tobacco? Maybe. Was he incapable of eating a single full plate of food a day? Perhaps. Did he live with an abusive, drug-addled father 24/7? True. But he was okay, because he was Jonathan. And Jonathan was the happy kid, the life of the party, and he didn't have any problems in life. Right? Sending him to an institution with five other boys in equally deplorable mental states is just an excuse for him to run away from home, not because he needs it. Obviously. The important thing is that Jonathan will continue to be perfect...until he isn't.

Adam Webb spent most of his teenage years in love with his best friend, Gabriel Connor, only to be thrown out of their shared apartment when he finally found the courage to reveal his feelings. Seven months later Adam's effort to save their lost friendship finds him more than he ever asked for. After all, being thrown out has to be better than thrown into a wall. However, Adam isn't ready to give up. Trapped and isolated in a dangerous relationship, he falls deeper and deeper into Gabriel's world. Despite Adam's attempts to push them away, his friends are determined to help, but the man who fights hardest is Cameron McCain, Adam's photography teacher--a man who treasures what Gabriel does not.
