Hadley's whole world is flipped upside down, she's sent wild with grief at the loss of her best friend who'd promised to be there for her, she hates herself for not doing more to save him. However, Hadley is sent to an even darker place when her best friend returns, yup, as a ghost. He informs her he's stuck between Earth and the After Life, and he thinks he'll be able to leave if he helps Hadley recover. He's sure if he gets her someone else to love, then maybe she'd forgive her deceased best friend, and if she doesn't? Gerard could be stuck forever.
