Jacob and Cassie have been best friends since birth, but everything starts to change when they reach the 8th grade. Jacob wants to be a singer and he's been posting YouTube videos forever, but now people are actually watching. He has a new girlfriend and now he's talking about dropping out of public school to pursue his music. Cassie feels like she's losing him and doesn't know what to do. She has a lot of secrets and Jacob swears she can tell him anything, but she's not so sure. Cassie's losing trust in Jacob just as Jacob gains the trust of so many others.
