The tale of a trio as troubled as they are troublesome.

Connor Pallitan isn't normal, he's known that since the day he was born. Left alone in the woods, cloaked in protective fire, its a wonder the boy survived for a year. But eighteen? A miracle. But then, all hell breaks loose, and it's up to Conner to lock it back in, using powers he doesn't even know how to control, working with a government he knows nothing about and doesn't even trust. Its not a matter of if he'll do it, because refusing to means the end of humanity as they all know it, no, it's a matter of he can do it.

But for some inexplicable reason he has decided to join his sister and parents on the luxury cruise ship - a trip that feels to him like an endless row of one excruciating, humiliating moment after the other. Until he meets Sione, the dancer with the cheeky smile and the dreamy eyes. And Casey would have never dreamt it, but maybe it's possible to fall a teensy, tiny bit in love with someone over the course of twelve days. Maybe cruises aren't even half bad. Or maybe it's just the summer magic. But Casey is about to experience the summer that changes his life.
