They meet on a Tuesday, Harry leaves the next Monday. In that time, they fall in love and put a lock on the Love Lock bridge before Harry leaves, promising to return. But what happens in five years time when Harry comes back and Louis has a girlfriend?

"Too young, too dumb to realize, That I should have bought you flowers and held your hand Should have gave you all my hours when I had the chance Take you to every party cause all you wanted to do was dance Now my baby is dancing, but he's dancing with another man." Things were never supposed to be like this. Growing up, life was so simple. You met a person, you fell in love, and things ended happy ever after. But this is real life. Sometimes, people don't end up with who they belong. People sometimes take what they have for granted. If you don't appreciate what you have, then maybe you just might lose it. Louis never expected this. He just wanted to be a famous singer, that was all. But meeting a certain curly-haired boy changed his entire world. He had met the one person he could be himself with, his other half. They were as close as two mates were. And mates never kept secrets. Even the biggest secret of all. He had never been homophobic, so when Harry finally told him he was bi-sexual nothing changed. In fact, it made them even closer. But what happens when Harry aims his affection toward Louis? Louis could have been his man. All he had to do was say yes. But sometimes things are a little more complicated than that. Sometimes you don't realize what you have until it's gone.

Detention is supposed to be a punishment, but for Louis and Harry, it's the start of something beautiful. Unfortunately, what starts off as a harmless love affair quickly takes a turn for the worse. Through all the stereotypes, judgments, family issues, and demons from the past, Louis and Harry struggle to stay strong. What happens in detention, stays in detention. When Harry was little, he hated living in Oak Hollow. It was a stuck-up neighborhood in the suburbs full of broken families and white picket fences. But then, on a hot Summer day, a strange boy wearing heart-shaped sunglasses moves in across the street.
