Charlie has just lost her parents and sister in a car wreck and has been adopted by a new family. When her new mom drags her to go see some boys her sister Shay is obsessed with, she meets Hayes Grier who turns out to not be as bad as she originally had judged him to be. The only problem being that Charlie is depressed and can't stop cutting. When Hayes finds out, his efforts to help her almost always fail. He starts to wonder if she can be fixed.
