Twenty four enter the arena, but only one comes out. In the poor district known as District Eleven, a young twelve year old girl enters in her first reaping. Rue, small, kind, and innocent is entered into the 74th Annual Hunger Games. The final book in my Hunger Games fan fiction trilogy. (You should probably read the first two before you take on this story.) Prim is now older, but that doesn't mean she has changed one bit. Especially now that her worst nightmares are coming true. When Prim has to head back into the arena for the third time, she is tested against herself, and is pulled away from the ones she loves the most.

When the laws of the Hunger Games were laid out, they dictated that every twenty-five years the anniversary would be marked by a Quarter Quell. It would call for a glorified version of the Games to make the fresh the memory of those killed by the districts' rebellion. Now we honor our fourth Quarter Quell. On the one hundredth anniversary, as a reminder to the rebels that the Dark Days only served to tear their families apart, each district will be required to send two sets of siblings. The new government that came with the rebellion Katniss started has been overthrown. President Snow's granddaughter is ruling Panem now, and she has proven to be more ruthless than he ever was. Katniss and Peeta were publicly executed after the Capitol took over again, and District 13 was completely obliterated. Since then, the Hunger Games have been harsher than ever. We know how the Hunger Games goes- Katniss volunteers for her younger sister and wins the games, escapes the Quell, and wins the rebellion. Well guess what, that never happened. Not in this account, anyways. Instead, Katniss never volunteered for Prim, and our little brave Primrose Everdeen won the games at age 12 and escapes the Quarter Quell. But it's not over.
