{Original Story} When Peter Maguire saves a man from falling off his roof, he didn't plan for that guy to be a criminal, and he certainly didn't plan to get injected with an experimental -- and stolen -- serum that gives him superpowers. What a day. Now, with the help of the people who made his new abilities a possibility, he has to learn how to become the superhero the city needs, all while studying for tests and doing his homework. {First in a duology but can be read as a standalone}

"What the hell happened to your face?" I gasp, covering my mouth in horror. "It looks even worse than before." Skye stands frozen in the doorway, sporting a black eye and an angry gash on his left cheek as his hand lingers on the doorknob. His hair is all tousled up and he's wearing the expression of a five year old caught stealing candy. "W-what are you doing up at this time of the night?" he feebly attempts to change the topic. "The better question would be why do you look like you ran into a bunch of violent stray cats?" I wonder out loud, not caring to drop the suspicion from my tone. "I...ermm...," he scratches the back of his neck thoughtfully. "I tripped over a... potato..on the street...and...yeah I grazed myself." "Doesn't explain the black eye." "That.." he grits his teeth. "Actually, I fell face-first onto the potato and..got it.." he adds lamely, not meeting my eyes "Potatoes," I scoff, shaking my head in disbelief. "You could do better." ... There's a reason why superheroes and supervillains aren't supposed to live together. Cassidy Miller, aka FastFreeze, is barely surviving six months of working in a superhero-crime-fighting-team when it's time for college. To her greatest dismay and due to certain circumstances, she ends up sharing a dorm room with Skye Howard, aka The Breaker, a secretive arrogant boy with horrible lying skills who just happens to be working in the rival supervillain league. Of course, both of them are oblivious to each other's secret identities and superpowers. Most nights, either one of them comes home injured from a battle and the other stitches up their wounds despite the lame excuses and an unlikely friendship starts to bloom or maybe even more. But what will happen if they both find out who they really are?

Siena can heal wounds with a touch of her hands. A captive since birth, she is used as a tool of war by a Plainsmen tribe. A chance escape into the forest proves successful... and deadly. Rescued by the Forestfolk--a group of people she always thought were nothing more than bedtime stories--Siena remains on edge. Trust does not come easily when persecution is all she's ever known. Keeping her abilities a secret seems like the right thing to do, until a tragic accident renders two Forestfolk spiraling toward death. If she chooses to reveal her abilities, she risks being subjugated again. Treated as no longer human. Maybe even sent back to the Plainsmen. But keeping her talent to herself means ignoring the injured around her, even allowing them to die. The choice seems obvious to Siena, but living with the repercussions of that choice is another matter altogether. A journey of self-discovery, a bit of adventure, and a splash of romance. I believe my name was Iriko. I was twenty years old. My life used to be normal, getting teased by my sisters, becoming their work-slave, that type of thing. But while I was acting as an errand boy, I ended up dying... or that's what I thought. The next thing I knew, I was in a forest, somehow alive. Now there was a problem. I've become a baby dragon, and I have no idea of who I once was. ------------------------- Alright, so bear with me. This is my first attempt at writing a story. I was inspired by a certain other Japanese light novel, so you may notice some similarities (Or maybe not). Any forms of criticism are welcome. Drop a comment if anything seems like shit. No really, call it a complete waste of human intellect undeserving to be read even by the most pitiful of worms if that's how you feel.

Welcome to the wonderful world of writing on Wattpad! This is Wattpad, not the Olympics, so there's no need to panic. Anyone can try it, no training required. Writing doesn't have to be complicated, and you don't have to be a graduate of some fancy university, but there are a few guidelines that will make things easier for you and your readers. I have tips for beginners who paid as little attention in English as I did, as well as details on things I've learned over the years. Anyone can write a story. I never thought I would write anything, but I tried it and - much to my surprise - I found it very relaxing and entertaining. Feel free to skip around the chapters to find sections that interest you. You are also welcome to skim everything in case you find a hidden gem of advice. Please note that my writing tips follow the Chicago Manual of Style writing guide (you are free to use a different guide - keeping things consistent is the biggest thing).

No one ever said what would happen when dragons and aliens meet. And no one told me that I would be in the middle of it. Tasha was studying hard to get through her last year of university when she was kidnapped. She certainly didn't expect to wake up with four feet and wings. Mad scientists are bad enough, but things get even more complicated when aliens appear and wipe out the human race. Is there a way for her to hide her true identity in this new world while retaining her humanity? --------------------- Sneak Peek: I jumped over the lip of the tray and beat down hard with my wings. I had expected to only slow my fall; I had not expected to end up gaining so much height. I squawked in surprise and spread my wings wide in alarm before gravity regained its hold on me. With several awkward back-winging motions of my wings, I landed lightly on the floor. Well, at least I know my wings work. I glanced at the man in the corner as he was scribbling quick notes. I turned around to regard the tray again. They say practice makes perfect. With another hop and a single wingbeat, I managed to land in the sand tray with fanned wings slowing my momentum. That was much more graceful. But a wing-assisted hop wasn't true flight. And I still wasn't on the windowsill. ---------------------------- Entire semi-polished draft can be read on Wattpad.
