The first semester in Oxford has already started. Balancing between studying to become a lawyer and life in general, Julia Eden has found herself sitting across from a shrink, or in better words: a psychologist. It only gets worse when the old man says that she is indeed depressed. Now Julia is closemouthed and the good doctor just wants to know which hole she is in, so that he can pull her out of it. According to her, all of it started last summer, when she was expelled from Brighton Marina and brought back to Hampstead, to live with her dysfunctional family. She goes on to tell the doctor about about the difficulties her friends and her had gone through for love and family, her involvement with Noah Clarke, who could practically run for Jesus and the elegant quick-witted law student Neal Williams, her constant struggle with cocaine and fitting in with her family after her brother Robert's death. Now, the good doctor says it didn't really start last Summer after all. Would Julia be ready to face the truth about all her demons, mingling with all the other demons her friends and family had abandoned? Or, would those demons stay in the closet, smelling of drama, drugs, alcohol, embarrassment, broken hearts & teen spirit? Follow these unforgettable characters and how they grow up to something tolerable. Ashley Martin has been through more grief than a person experiences in their entire life and carries baggage that no kid should ever entail. Tyler Miller is the school's scandalous bad boy who acts on impulse, blinded rage and will single-handedly destroy anybody who stands in his way. Then all of a sudden, they're thrown together and despite their destructive past, they're forced to overcome their differences. It's time for Ashley to stop running away from his death glares, blank stares and that spine-chilling scowl that reminds her just how little he cares. Driven by a whirlwind of secrets, a class assignment and midnight walks into the past, things should start working out. But then fate kicks in; hard-hitting and soul-crushing. It's a fight-or-flight situation, a reincarnation of her past, a chance for him to right the wrongs he did by her. A second chance is like giving someone an extra bullet for their gun after they missed you the first time round. So here's Tyler's gun. Here's Ashley's heart. And here's to their second chance, however hopeless it may seem.
