Applejack was already dating somebody else, but she was also conflicted by other emotions and conflicts that came with being in a relationship with someone else. Throughout the mane 7's junior year, they have made mistakes they regretted eminently and felt guilty about, made hard decisions and had to accept the truth about a lot of things even if it was hard for them. Especially Applejack and Rainbow Dash, who ended up having a separate problem with their friendship and struggled to figure out where each other's head was at. Applejack is very gay. Rainbow Dash is about 20% cooler than everyone else. They're mixed together and suddenly, Rainbow has to face all of these foreign feelings that she can't understand. Now she's not only 20% cooler than everyone else, but also a confused (gay) mess who doesn't know the first thing about love. She tries to play it off but wow is she a terrible actress. Basically, AJ and RD are best friends who are super gay for each other. I don't know how else to describe this story anymore because I keep changing the plot. Just read it. It's super gay and filled with humor. I swear I'll change this into a proper description once I finish the story and know for sure where it's going.
