*** Please read author's note (both) prior to reading this. As the author, I am only keeping this published for some followers that have been here for a while. I hate this book even as the writer.*** Samantha Sumner was the definition of "sheltered." During her life, her parents have been babying and sheltering her eyes and ears from the outside world. If you were to ask her what the b-word or what the alternative meaning to a hot dog meant, she would literally believe that they meant "beautiful" and "a delicious carnival treat." However, when her parents die in a fatal car accident, she's forced to move in with her older brother, Jason, where she's forced to finish her senior year at a public school and meet strange new people. Even though Jason continues to baby Samantha, her world suddenly turns upside down as she meets Jason's best friend, the alluring Isabelle Chase. Isabelle Chase is vindictive, outgoing, and absolutely crazy when it comes to girls and partying. So, when she lays her eyes on the completely innocent Samantha Sumner, she can't help but play a dangerous game of cat and mouse. However, falling deeper into a web of lies and toxicity, Samantha's innocence slowly dissolves as she learns how unfair the world can be to not only herself, but to the people that surround her everyday life. A story of relationships, lust, deception, and a tad bit of awkwardness follows the story of a carefree lesbian and a naive eighteen-year-old, ultimately leading to how each person can strongly affect another. ***** WARNING EXPLICIT CONTENT INSIDE DO NOT READ IF OFFENDED BY MATURE CONTENT ****** THIS IS a (girlxgirl) story.

When Dana Thomas's parents get divorced, and her aunt and uncle pass away, her mother decides it's time for a change - just in time for senior year of high school. Dana gets thrown into a small town where everyone knows everyone else and concerns themselves with everyone else's business. Katie Torres, daughter of a wealthy single mother, is your typical popular cheerleader who had everything she could have asked for in the world handed to her. Still, she's unhappy. A laid-back mom, attractive boyfriend, and everyone in town groveling at her feet aren't enough for Katie. When Katie finally meets her mysterious new neighbor from across the street, it's by waking up next to her in bed - but are Katie's initial assumptions about the night before what actually happened? Katie can't seem to escape the new girl, but that doesn't mean she has to like her. So why can't she stop thinking about her? They are two girls who are complete opposites. They're a lover and a fighter, a cheerleader and a rebel, and most importantly: lost and insecure. Will Katie finally admit to herself that the one thing she seemingly hates the most could be the one thing that makes her happy? Or will she realize it after it's too late? After a particularly terrible experience with her adoptive father and a few drinks, Rebecca Harrison finds her much-needed escape from reality in her soon-to-be biology teacher. When the two meet again at the beginning of the school year, neither know what to make of the situation. But their conflict with each other is no match for the conflict Rebecca faces with her adoptive father, and the two soon find themselves developing a relationship that tests both of their willingness to let others in. For entirely different reasons, they find themselves pushing each other away. Until they realize that their reasons aren't so different at all. This story is girlxgirl, teacherxstudent, and it deals with topics such as abuse, alcoholism, and suicide. It's my best work but it can be depressing at times & may be triggering to some. [Editing on-going, Sequel - TBD]

At sixteen, Beth Evans was used to living a solitary life. "The Clones" were a group of perfectly pretty girls in school who preyed on Beth's insecurities. In order to survive Beth honed her self-deprecating humour and lived her life from the sidelines, observing others was less painful than participating in her own life. Beth observed one boy in particular, but she would never dare talk to him. Then one day, a chance meeting with one of the Clones resulted in an unlikely friendship and so began a new era for Beth that opened up musical opportunities and sexual possibilities ... but will her new-found happiness last or will disaster unfold? ** April 2016 - thank you for all your support and lovely comments. I'm really touched. Just wanted to announce that the sequel, "Chronicles of a Fat Wannabe" is coming soon!!!! **

"how does the universe work?" you asked me. i paused and thought for a moment. after a while, i decided on the truth. "you can never know. even if you learn it through the pain, you'll still be unable to know how the universe truly works. the universe is a complicated thing, after all." | poetry & prose © calpuccino |
