Philip Hamilton and Theodosia Burr have been best friends since they were little. They do everything together. But when their fathers, Alex and Aaron, get in a fight, the two children are forbidden to see each other. Theodosia is deeply in love with Philip and is heartbroken when Aaron doesn't allow her to see her crush. Philip can't believe he is losing his best friend. Years pass. Philip and Theodosia haven't seen each other in tens years. Philip forgets about Theo, but Theodosia is still madly in love with him. She can't stop thinking about him. Then, they meet again.

"Philip, our father's hate each other. I doubt it would do us much good if we were seen spinning around the ballroom together." A smile played on Philip's lips. "I'd like to test that theory." Theodosia Burr hasn't seen Philip Hamilton since she was 9- though she's heard more than enough about his dad, who's in constant competition with her father. When they meet again at a ball, neither thinks much of it... until he finds her again. And again. And the letters. And the visits. And the slow realization that they're falling for each other.
