We dismissed the stories of our forbearers as the inane ramblings of barbarians who knew nothing of how the world really worked, and we congratulated ourselves for our enlightenment. But, just because we forgot about the monsters, doesn't mean they ever forgot about us. They did exist, and they never went anywhere. They were hiding, watching, and waiting for their moment to remind humanity why we really fear the dark and the unknown. But what am I saying? Everyone who's left already knows this. I just found out the truth a little earlier than most. So, I'm Adrian Johnson, former pilot for the U.S. Air Force, and this is the story of how I met my first dragon. *Author's Note* First off, if you've found this and decided to give it a read, then thank you very much! Chapter One of a story I started. I'm only posting chapter one to get some feedback so I can see what works and what doesn't. It was a normal assignment: "parent" an egg for two weeks to learn about responsibility. For Kyle, however, the end of the assignment brings about a whole new beginning.

Fin is a more or less normal teenage boy living in the kingdom known as Lenseia. Well, normal as in there really isn't anything special about him. He's relatively weak, not exactly ugly but definitely not handsome, and definitely not good at remembering the swordplay sequences he's supposed to have memorized to become a knight. But, well, as things do in this sort of story, that all changes when he finds the baby dragon...

Seeryath is a three year old dragon with a horrible past, however things start to look up when she is taken to a dragon academy for reasons unknown to her. Sky is a dragon rider except she's missing the dragon, Sky's been at the academy for years without a dragon and that's not a good thing. The two meet by chance and begin to bond however when Sky stands up for herself and almost dies because of it, Seeryath comes to the rescue. As dragon and rider the two make dangerous enemies and tensions start rising as people start fighting amongst each other. Sky and Seeryath think they know who's behind it all however the moment they can prove it disaster strikes and the moment of order turns to chaos. With help of new friends Sky and Seeryath rise up against their enemies.
