The events of "The Darkest Hour" reach their dramatic conclusion as Mei gives it her all in trying to bring back the Yuzu she once knew. But not until she sacrifices every desire that stands in her way will the monstrous Zu fade into oblivion, and Mei determines to do so in the most emotional way possible... Hey guys, this is BigPoppaAihara, and as I am writing this introduction I am actually still writing chapter 14, found in "Arc Two: Eve of Daybreak." But at any rate, the dark fanfic novel finally gets its happy ending, and I am overflowing with excitement to put it into writing! Unfortunately, however, this aforementioned ending cannot be reached without passing through a great crisis that neither of our lesbian lovers have ever gone through before, nor will they do so again. As a spoiler, the chapter recounting this crisis will contain considerable violence and gore, but it will all be worth it in the end as Yuzu and Mei reunite in splendor. The events of "Citrus: The Darkest Hour" continue as our beloved Yuzu has taken a turn for the worst. Her evil side, Zu, has hijacked control of Yuzu's personality, appearance, and other intangibles. Mei has given up everything for her stepsister's sake, and has expressed her feelings to her, but will it be enough to resurrect the dead?

Never has Aihara Yuzu fallen this low in her life. Her lover has deserted her, and there is no joy in sight. But the plot thickens as Yuzu begins to unveil a very dark side to her character that nobody has ever seen before... Hey guys! This is my third Citrus fanfic project to date, but this time it's a tad different. I'm actually writing this in collaboration with Reddit user u/Darkhorse344, who came up with the idea for this story. In contrast to previous works that I've written, this one is considerably more somber and emotional. The fanservice is stilled to a hush in this novel, but the dramatic plot more than makes up for it. For those of you who've already read "Citrus: The Untold Story," I feel that I should inform you that this new fanfic also occurs after chapter 36, and is in no way connected with the events of that story. Like I said above, this novel does not contain too much humor as a result of the depression both our MC's are going through. Enjoy!
