Short poems that contain imagery or themes from high/dark fantasy or whatever inspires me. I'll add to this collection as inspiration strikes, but each poem is a standalone. As such, it's always complete even though it'll never be complete.

Acting normal is not the same as being normal. No one knows that truth better than Suthe Montikwe. Born with the unlucky genes of a distant druith ancestor, she's had to hide her talents in order not to be outcast by society. Her strategy is to smile, keep quiet, and work hard. While that method may keep her safe, it's also alienated her from her neighbors and friends, and the worry that she may be discovered is never far from her thoughts. When her country sends out a warrant to capture anyone who practices magic, Suthe is forced to seek refuge elsewhere, all the while wondering at the sudden proclamation. Why has the government taken an interest in her, and when will she be able to return home? Unsatisfied with her lack of answers, Suthe decides to investigate. But the more she looks, the deeper she gets herself into trouble, and she comes to realize that this mystery does not involve her country alone. The threat of war looms on the horizon, and Suthe will need to put her trust in the strangers she meets, including a dangerous spy wanted for the betrayal of his own country. ***2nd in Action/Adventure in the Blossom Awards!*** The year is 1126. The place, England. Rowen never really knew who her parents were. All she knew was that someone had left her on the steps of Great Hall; the spies' headquarters in England. Since she had been left there it seemed fitting that she should train there. So she became the first female spy. The years went by but not without their share of trouble. Then disaster happens and it is up to Rowen to face her past and to fix the problems. An army is forming, a man's life hangs in the balance and time is ticking down. While I wouldn't call this a historical fiction there are several people in this story who did actually live. For example, King Henry I did really rule during 1126, and his son really did die in a shipwreck. Brian Boru was an Irish hero who defeated the Vikings at Clontarf. I try to make the real people appear only in name and not actually as a character because I wouldn't want to give you the wrong picture of people who really existed. A Cinderella Retelling with it's own magical twist to the known tale! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After the deaths of his parents, Nicholas lives with his demanding step-family. He cleans the house, runs the errands, and cooks the food. However, when the princess returns from studying abroad and has three balls held in her honor, the house takes on a different feel. The step-family is more demanding, hoping the ensnare Her Highness in a matrimony plot and Nicholas starts to see horrific shadows during the night speaking of taking the throne.
