What if that whole thing with Katniss and Peeta never happened? What if, instead, the Hunger Games followed two boys that we all know, love and adore? Meet Dan and Phil, two ordinary kids in Panem with polar-opposite backgrounds; Dan belonging to District 12, used to the poor living conditions but with a loving family and skilled with a knife since he was about 10 for self defence as well as entertainment, Phil belonging to District 1, used to living in luxury but with a family that doesn't love him as much as he tells himself, no matter how many times he tells himself they love him, and never being any good with fighting in preparation for the slight chance that he went into the Games, leading to his teachers giving up all hope on him. When Dan is chosen as a tribute for the 74th Hunger Games and he first lays eyes on the raven haired boy from District 1, he knows the games will suddenly be a hell lot harder. Especially when Phil wants to team up in the arena. Trigger warning: All the stuff you'd expect from The Hunger Games, abuse, mentions/suggestions of suicidal thoughts and self harm.

The phrase YOLO hasn't been said in years. Purely because it doesn't apply to humans anymore. Well, for everyone else. Dan Howell has never enjoyed life. His first 2 both ended by suicide. His final one would be too, if every time he tried and succeeded, he didn't wake up on his bed, in the same house, same clothes, same life, like someone had hit the re-spawn button. There's no getting rid of it. Can Phil Lester convince him that his life is worth it? Trigger warnings: Themes of depression - suicide and self-harm. Warnings at the beginning of each chapter if necessary

People with a plus are known as Positives and people with a minus are known as Negatives. No one knows how they got there, when they got there, or why they're there in the first place. It's just the way it works. Dan Howell is the biggest Positive in school, constantly happy with amazing grades and kind friends and a supportive family. Phil Lester is the biggest Negative in school, suffering from severe depression and anxiety which constantly gets in the way of his school work, no friends and a shit home life, meaning he gets bullied everyday. Dan is determined to fix that, even if it means sacrificing himself for Phil. You thought you knew the story behind Dan's depression and Phil's constantly happy mood? Think again. Here's the true story. Trigger warning- Depression, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts and self harm

Dan was 13 when he unwillingly sacrificed his soul to the devil, forced by his parents. 3 years later, Dan wasn't expecting Satan herself to be standing on his doorstep with Dan's contract in her hands, in need of a favour. Dan doesn't know if he has it in him to let Satan take Phil's soul, despite Dan's agreement, but he doesn't know what lengths he will go to stop it from happening either. He knows Satan needs this - supernatural souls are extremely rare and important, after all. But, Dan knows what it's like to not have a soul - torture. It's not something he wants anyone else to go through, especially the boy who's been on the run for 2 years avoiding it.
