This AU belongs to ruahstuff on tumblr. Sadly, she won't be continuing this AU anymore so I thought I could recreate a story based on her wonderful AU. The story follows Cuphead, who is a squire in training and his brother Mugman, who is a medic in training, receiving a letter from an unknown sender who wish to stop the war and when they did, they'll receive a reward which immediately cause them to join. First they must meet up with the sender but they'll have to face foes and monsters in order to come face to face with the sender. Turns out they are not the only ones. Others wish to stop the war too. Will they trust friendship or focus on the prize?

It's enough to make a gumshoe readjust his fedora. ----- This noir flavored detective yarn is set 100 years back in time. It's a bit grittier than my usual breezy output. This story is basically clean and I did not flag it as mature. However, darker human failings (alcohol use, sexual desire, and violence) drive the plot. I don't dwell on those aspects, but it's definitely a story for grownups. The intended audience is new adult or adult. Winner! 2022 Amby Awards, Mystery and Thriller category. Winner! 3rd place in the Ballsy Tea Awards 2022, Action and Adventure category.
