Coriolanus bit down on his tongue, determined not to make a sound. He would not allow those wretched birds to make a mockery of his final words. He remembered the bang of the trapdoor, the taste of blood flooding his mouth, the crack, and nothing else. When he woke, he was unable to speak, unable to move, and yet quite unmistakably alive. How? He should be dead. He had been hanged. The weapons implicating his involvement in one Mayfair Lipp's murder had been found. If he saw anyone, it should be the mayor's spoilt daughter and that self-righteous Sejanus Plinth. Instead, it was the loathsome duo of Dr. Gaul and Dean Highbottom gloating over his immobilized form... *** People think it was a tragic accident, a case of terrible luck to be wrongfully accused and penalized for something he hasn't done. The Plinths have taken Coriolanus in as recompense, since it was allegedly their son who had framed him and caused this entire mess. In the ten years since, Coriolanus has spent much of his time and newfound riches trying to undo the damage, only for his efforts to backfire. Now, he has been cut off and sent to yet another rehabilitation facility to, well, rehabilitate. As if therapy could restore him to health or normal life. What's the point? He doesn't believe in therapy. He doesn't believe in fate. Truthfully, he doesn't believe in a lot of things anymore, including the Hunger Games. But he does believe that the odds will never be in his favour. It's why he's here. Or is it to meet her? --------------- 𝒍𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒙 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒚𝒐 𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝑯𝑬𝑨𝑹𝑻 𝑶𝑭 𝑮𝑶𝑳𝑫 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒖𝒑𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑾𝑰𝑵𝑫𝑭𝑨𝑳𝑳 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝑰𝑳𝑬𝑵𝑪𝑬 𝑰𝑺 𝑮𝑶𝑳𝑫 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔

Graduating from Julliard School on the verge of a worldwide pandemic, Tom catches one of the last flights out of JFK back to England and spends the next twelve months at his mother's Nottingham home. Throughout this time, the apartment across the hall sits quietly empty. No one has been seen or heard heading in or out, and their letterbox brims with advertisement pamplets and pizza vouchers. Tom knew that their neighbour Ms. White passed on not long after he left for New York City. His mother reported that Ms. White's daughter, who was living with her boyfriend at the time, no longer appeared in the vicinity soon after. Although his mother claims that movers were never spotted, Tom has little reason not to believe that his childhood sitter has long since moved on. He doesn't harbour high hopes of seeing her again, until he returns from a grocery run to sunlight spilling into his corridor through an opened door that isn't his own. Surprise and curiosity lengthen his already longer-than-normal strides, but when he gets to the threshold, he is compelled into something he has never done before: pause. Tom used to run in and out of this place as free as the wind when he was a boy. He spent so much time in 5A that it was as though he lived here instead of next door. He knows the flat like the back of his hand, and nothing seems to have changed. A golden mantel clock bearing a rotating pendulum still sits atop the foyer console; daisy-printed curtains still hang before the windows. He feels sixteen all of a sudden, faced with the familiar decor and staring at what he is certain is the back of Lottie's head. The only difference between now and when he was sixteen? She's not on her feet. She can no longer be on her feet. --------------- 𝐚 𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐛𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐭, 𝟏𝟎𝐩𝐦 𝐠𝐦𝐭+𝟖

It's only been a few days since the Twentieth Hunger Games declared its victor but preparations for the twenty-first are already underway. Not only is Coriolanus Snow is in charge⎯officially in charge⎯he is all anyone in the Capitol can talk about. Everyone wants a piece of him, and it's not just the ladies. Coriolanus basks in every minute of it. He is having the time of his life. Until one night, he seems to have seen a ghost. A ghost of his past⎯the ghost of his past. It can't be, Coriolanus tells himself as he watches her waltz through his dining room full of guests. It has been ten years since he'd seen her, ten years since that fateful day by the lake and in the forest, ten years since she'd sung and he'd fired his gun, and it simply cannot be... Snow lands on top...doesn't it? *** Lilith Gold is a senior at the University, where a highly-coveted Gamemaker apprenticeship is up for grabs. 〝He who plays with fire gets burnt.〞 〝And what about she who plays with fire?〞 Willow wasn't your average vampire in more ways than one: Werewolves were beings with whom she made friends, not enemies. She was a Cullen. Now, she could append "product of family feud" to that growing list. Forever fifteen might be some middle-aged human's dream, but not Willow's. Not when she didn't sleep. Not after everything that had happened. She had lost her father, a brother. Most of her family⎯what was supposed to be her family⎯now lay in their own broken fragments, scattered across the globe. How could anyone think she might be different? Her piece of the world was Jericho, Vermont. Boarding school was a last resort, an ultimatum she was happy to be issued. Perhaps it meant hurting someone she loved⎯who was she kidding? Of course, she'd hurt someone she loved⎯but she'd do it again. She had been desperate to get away. Given her circumstances, no one was inclined to let her out of their sights, let alone send her across the country. It was this or going crazy. At least they could all finally agree: The East Coast wasn't the greater of those two evils. But will Willow really keep her sanity at Nevermore Academy? When she encounters the likes of a similarly damaged boy, when her new best friends make new best friends, when the town is inexplicably and irreversibly sucked into a whirlwind of mysterious deaths, it seems rather unlikely. 〝Well, she gets burnt too.〞 ➳ XAVIER THORPE X FEM!OC ➳ WEDNESDAY NETFLIX SEASON ONE ➳ STARTED 16 12 22 ➳ ONGOING

Her wanderlust was one that was fit to burst. Twenty-three and with a cross-country road trip already ticked off her bucket list, the young American was ready to backpack her way across Europe, Asia, and more. She was ready to experience it all; to see it all. Before it was too late; before life caught up with her. But would the snow-capped Alps, bustling cities, charming old towns, and postcard-worthy coastlines that met azure skies be the only things that take Lily-Ann Quinn's breath away? The only things that she would fall in love with? Apparently not. His club, though having won the Bundesliga, missed out on the chance of seizing the double when they lost the DFB Pokal final to a team that sat eighth in the league. His country, title holders notwithstanding, tripped spectacularly at the first hurdle of the World Cup-an uncanny curse that had plagued defending champions since the turn of the century. Freshly thrusted into singlehood no less, Joshua Kimmich became certain of nothing except the fact that he was about to have the worst summer of his life. Or was he? Apparently not.

Then, perhaps, all she had to do was answer questions about whether she really hailed from a certain village in Switzerland: she did not. Alas, when she was thrusted into the realm of non-magic, she was not welcomed. As much as nobody had the slightest clue about her heritage, none was fooled by her mismatched eyes. One light, one dark: it was the epitome of evil. It did not help that strange things always seemed to happen around her, including a barn owl swooping into her dorm room on her eleventh birthday. She felt like she had waited her entire life for that moment. Her chance to turn her life around had finally come. There was not going to be time for friends, not that she would make any. There was not going to be time for boys; those were a waste. There was only time for study, because a basketful of O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s was her only ticket to leave behind what she had. It was time to reenter the world in which her name heralded wickedness and villainy--it was time to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. 〝Hi. I'm Frenkie; with two 'e's.〞 〝Ada; with two 'a's.〞 Her eyes were green, the colour of the pitch on which he lived and breathed. Her smile was a kind of wide, it made one forget all the tears she ever had to cry. Her laugh was not the most melodious, but it certainly was precious. And it was easier to love her when she was someone else's. But if and when she'd come free, could he bear to make her his, knowing that she might be ripped from him any minute? Even Frenkie de Jong himself didn't know the answer.

"... and many years ago, you won mine; but you did it again tonight. I love you, my angel." Croatia didn't have creme brûlée, or anywhere Inez Deschamp could continue learning ballet.
