Salem has arrived, and with no time left, Ruby Rose and General Ironwood must decide whether to flee with the Relics, fight on the frontlines, or protect the people of Mantle. However, tensions in the group are at an all-time high, and Ruby must confront her past actions as a leader, and as a friend, that ultimately led to their current situation. Meanwhile, Penny Polendina finds herself faced with a seemingly impossible choice, while Cinder Fall's mysterious and tragic past is finally told as the two Maidens, and good and evil, clash in the inevitable battle for Remnant's fate.
