There's one thing that Connie wants, that Jacob wants to give to her. Will it work out for the best?

This is Jonnie fanfic for casualty. Jacob has a 2 year old daughter called Jessica (jessie). Jessie's mum died while giving birth and that has left a massive impact on Jessie. When Jacob meets Connie all he wants is for them to be together. He knows Connie has a daughter who is 8 so wasn't as worried about Jessie but he didn't want to get rejected because of Jessie like he had so many times before. However, he knew Connie was different he could see it in her eyes, for once Jacob had hope.

"Settle down and take your seats!" She called over the chatter, as she stood from her chair, "She is well fit... And young! That arse though." Cal gawked excitedly, Jacob rolled his eye laughing, "You do know how to talk about a lady... Nearly as bad as you treat them." Jacob smirked as they took a seat, "Well it's better to play the field while we're young." Cal chuckled. "I said settle down!" She yelled, letting them know she wasn't going to deal with any old crap

What if it had of been Jacob who had walked in when Connie had the cut her hand on the glass from her phone, will Jacob be the one to help Connie get through this, will it bring them closer? Jonnie of course. Title inspired by Lonely Together by Avicii and Rita Ora - my new favourite song!🙊

The cancer had be tough, the strain it had placed upon the pair was something neither one of them could've predicted back in that old classroom. She sighed hearing the doorbell sound. "Afia, Maddox!" she called, making her way to the door. Hugo lifted his head up watching as Connie opened the door. "Hey." he smiled, she simply nodded moving to the side to allow him entry, knowing the children would be a little while. "Hey Jacob." Hugo looked before turing back to the tv. "No Grace?" he questioned, "No. At a friends." she replied, "I'll go and get them." she added, wanting the interaction to be over.

Connie the strong independent clinical lead. Who shuts everyone out despite having the roughest 18 months if her life, nearly loosing her daughter after the crash, losing Jacob and then her battle with cancer. All those things she took in her stride refusing to give in, she picked herself up and carried on and tonight would be no different. Although the realization of who gave her the strength to carry on at her darkest times is no longer easy to deny, Sam her secret rock. They may hate each other, they may fight, he may have grace and he may be happily married, but when she needs him he's always there even if she's not always willing to let him in. They have slept together 4 times this year, he's like her comfort when she's pushed to breaking he's the one who she let's get close enough before realizing her mistake and putting the walls back up. Tonight it would seem is no different!

Following Jacob as once again Connie pushes him away, leaving him alone and miserable at Christmas time.
