Just a short little fic about a late night of working for Pepper and the little things that Tony does for her

Tony and Pepper leave for a business trip to Japan. What should have been Tony's chance to confess his feelings, gets both of them in mortal danger...

Right after the tragic events in New York, there are some things that are yet to be explained. Tony Stark is the man who can't. He is as wrecked as the city itself. As much as he tries to fix himself, he couldn't help but fix his suits first. Tony tries to explain everything to Pepper, but he can't quite get the words out. And Pepper, well, she misses him a lot. But the way it used to be. On the other hand, an unusual guest takes foot on Stark's mansion. It's been quite a while since Alex has visited Tony and her aunt, Pepper. She hopes that everything will be like it always was: Fun and comfortable, yet familiar. But many years had past and through these years, there have been many changes. From the familiar love her aunt and Tony shared, to the complete strangers they have become. Will Alex be able to fit in to these changes? Or will she have to do a little fixing herself?

ONE-SHOT WITH POTENTIAL TO CONTINUE - SET AFTER IRON MAN 3, PRE BREAK UP. TRIGGER WARNING - slight self harm concepts. PEPPERONY! Pepper let herself cave and slipped her heels off. She held onto her white skirt and layed down next to him. She buried her face in his neck as he wrapped his strong arms around her and held her close, silently thanking the heavens she could still feel his body heat and not the cool, slick metal of one of the suits like she'd grown accustomed to. "Don't you ever, ever, ever hurt yourself, Anthony Stark," she whispered, scolding him gently as she let a single tear slip from her watery eyes.
