This book is the sequel to The Mortal Instruments: Clary's Twin Sister (City of Bones).

Layla's mom Jaylin having hid her secret identity from her daughter, gets taken away for the Mortal Cup. Jace has found the beautiful Layla, and takes her to the Institute where she learns how to become a shadowhunter, and turns out to be better than Jace himself. Clary has a sister, Serena that has lived in Idris for three years. When Serena has heard the news that Clary got taken to the New York City Institute, she travels to help her sister. She meets the group of shadowhunters Alec, Clary, Isabelle, and Jace. This book is based off of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
