Jack was a super soldier as a teen, thrown into battle during the "Great War' only to realize that he wasn't cut out to fight, despite the knowledge he had. Veterans from the Great War are starting to disappear, even long after its end. Many disappear without warning, and suddenly Jack is worried himself that he's next, until he realizes that he might be the key to saving the veterans. Where he failed in the war, he strives to make up for it by pursuing the kidnapped and digging to find why they were disappearing. He recruits Mark, who's brother and father fought in the war, and finds himself a friend, a partner, and possibly more? All the while, he discovers something much greater than he expected to find, and must race against time to save the same people the risked everything for him in a battle much greater than just the war.
