He was taller than me by about three inches and was muscular in build. Said guy's eyes met mine for a millisecond and I bit my lip. I quickly realized I'd attracted a lot of the group's attention and dropped my head down to hurry away. I could feel his piercing stare on my back as I left; along with his friends' gazes. Theirs' weren't as strange. Theirs' were more friendly than curious."

Samira Vos is a natural born assassin, raised by her father Silas to be the best in the order, using her shadow magic and daggers to leave a trail of death behind her. Brought up by her fathers harsh and strict teachings, Samira rises through the ranks of the League of Shadows. Now a young woman, she stands begrudgingly by her fathers side, the future leader of the order her father now leads with pride. She resigns herself to her fate as an assassin, but longs for a life away from the blood soaked origins of her birth. That chance comes in the form of a contract, when she is given a chance at a new life.
