"Every time I knock you out, you drool," Phantom points at my black shirt sleeve with a gloved finger. I groan in frustration, there's a puddle of drool on it! Talk about embar-ras-sing... "Then here's an easy solution: Don't knock me out," I say snidely as an attempt to keep my nonexistent pride. "What makes you think I'll stop? Maybe I like knocking you out, and draping your body over my shoulder? Ever thought of that?" he raises an eyebrow, but a curious look passes over his face, lighting his eyes so that they resemble emeralds. ~~~ Full of comical wit, and crazy smart, Kelsey Jerrs is the superhero called Chaos. Chaos's arch nemesis is Phantom- the Villain Magazine's #1 of Hottest Villains, and the only person who can take Kelsey's snarky remarks and throw them right back at her. When Phantom tells Chaos that her best friend and co-superhero is in major trouble, Kelsey jumps to help. But in order to fight the major villains, one has to be a major hero, and Chaos is not. She'll need Phantom's help and her brain to both keep Phantom from finding out her true identity, and to keep her and her best friend alive. Sometimes, evil doesn't always lose. #16 in Action 1/10/18 (This is the first draft)

WARNING: CONTAINING AMOUNTS OF SASS PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO MANKIND In the city of NYC--- Ok. Hold up. First of all, New York City. What, are ya gonna assume everyone here knows what NYC is? Anyway, this is about two people. I can almost hear you rolling your eyes. Another cliché teen fiction with a bad boy and a good girl? Nope. This is about superheroes. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. And if you can name all the references in this book, you truly are a gift to mankind. Fangirl out.

• Highest Rank #2 in supervillain • "Do you trust me?" he asked, still staring at the gray door. "Of course not," I said, as if the idea were absurd. A ghost of a smile crept at the corner of his mouth. His hand latched onto my arm. Panic started to pool out of my nerves. I glanced back and forth between his gloved hand and the concealing hood upon his head. Curiosity never hit me so deeply than it did at that moment, as I wondered who was under the hood. Who it was that I was supposed to trust. "Who are you?" I timidly reached my free hand up to his head, fingers tingling all the while. He didn't try to stop me. There was a brief second when excitement exploded inside me, propelling my hand all the more quicker, millimeters away from touching the black cloth. Ghost grabbed my hand mid-air, his reflexes acting lightning-fast. I started. Drums began to pound in my ears. My heartbeat rose about ten notches. He had his entire hand wrapped around my wrist, and he slowly eased it down until it was parallel with my body. "A villain can choose to reveal his identity, but not knowing is the beauty of mystery," Ghost said lowly, his right hand coming up to push back a loose strand of hair from my face. "Now close your eyes." Reluctantly I shut my eyes, but not because he had commanded the action. It was more out of fear of what was going to happen next.

Heroes. Ever since they showed up, people have gone soft. They're adored, worshipped. Devotion is showered upon them like rain. It's about time someone knocks them off that pedestal they stand on, someone to crush their pillars of faith. Someone like me. A villain. It's perfect. I'll be the undoing of heroes. ≠ disclaimer: very much needs to be edited, very much needs to be less corny and very much needs to be entirely rewritten by me. if you approach it as a goofy, corny, old 2015-esque superhero book then it'll be a great time. i'll be honest and say there are no pulitzers here. completed ✓ highest rank in sf: #9 cover: @narwhelly
