In this world, power is everything. If you are weak, you die. It's as simple as that. I've lived my life in the shadow of my father, under stiffling protection that threatens to smother me, but I saw my chance and took it, running to the most dangerous place I could have gone. However, this danger is the only way I feel like I can be free enough to learn and grow to my full potential. Even though I'm not a full vampire, I'm smart and have a lot of magical potential. Now, I have to navigate the shadows that I hide within to find myself, help my friends, and find love, not that I even know what to look for. I've never been allowed to see much of the outside world, much less interact with it. To make matters worse, there's something dark brewing in the shadows that threatens to cast the entire world into darkness. It eats away at the land and turns people into power hungry monsters that would do anything to get stronger. Whatever it is, it's bad, and it's threatening everyone I love.
