Fear is society's biggest weapon - used to oppress, to hide, and to manipulate. The fear of oneself, however, is less of a weapon and more of a shield; a mirrored shield society uses to keep eyes down, to keep people from looking at their target, and to prevent them from destroying the fragile foundations of which it is constructed. People hide behind veils, but the veil doesn't just obscure the face - it obscures sight; to properly see the world around you, you must first allow yourself to be seen by it. They're all different, but they're similar in their differences - and they need each other whether they like it or not. (Deeply inspired by an idea I already had and propelled into reality after I watched the video for M83's Midnight City)

"'I miss you.' 'What do you mean? I'm right here.' He shook his head. 'No, I mean I miss seeing you. I miss your smile. Seeing you smile made me so happy. I'm still so upset that I'll never see it again.' I breathed in, a bit shaky. 'You've just got to remember that if I'm with you, I'm always smiling, okay?' 'I still miss seeing you. If I could have just one opportunity to be able to see again, even just for a moment, I would spend my time just watching you smile. That's all I would want....'" After a horrible accident, Phil loses his sight and goes completely blind. Dan's help has been amazing to get him through it, but Dan can't help falling in love with his best friend - now in daily need of his care and attention. This story is about love and trust, and how two friends - much more than friends - overcome the odds of a disability, and how they realize that no matter how difficult it gets, they will always have each other. (Warnings: none! :D Fluffy, a little dash of angst, looong)

('LETHAL' SERIES PART I) Of course, having the ability to change and move objects using nothing more than brain power has its perks, but being sent to a special school isolated from all other humans is definitely not one of them in Phil Lester's mind. In the eyes of Dan Howell, being feared is far better than being loved; the latter is overrated - it's one of the only things he's sure of. Coming from a world where you are different and into another where you're just another indistinguishable face in the crowd takes a while to adjust to. Especially when there are people who could provide fatal consequences if you were to cross them. (COMPLETED) **** Warning: contains dark themes such as death/murder in parts, but no triggers on the lines of self-harm, mental illness etc. Feel free to message me just in case. (Honestly, this fic is a mess and I'm sorry in advance) © Please don't repost my works on any platforms without my permission, this includes translations.

Dan is different. He's learned to accept that. Well, as best he can anyway, considering he's never really had much of a choice. It's been this way for as long as he can remember, the constant runaround process of trying to feel normal. His life is built around it, trying to trick both himself and everyone he interacts with into seeing him as your average person. The isolation as he desperately tries to keep others from finding out, the bitterness that wells up inside of him each and every time he's reminded that he'll never be like everyone else, the fear that nothing will ever change. He's fated to be this way forever; a misfit from society. Isolation can only go so far though, so when he's struggling to make ends meet and he's faced with the option of looking into a serious job or taking on a roommate, he opts for what seems like the easier option at the time. It doesn't seem so easy ten failed roommates into the process, or when he sits down at a table to meet with prospect number eleven and ends up with a coffee spilled all over his lap. Potential roommate number eleven, Phil, turns out to be an insufferable optimistic ball of sunshine that Dan wants nothing to do with. His options are running out though, as are the savings he's been using to pay his rent, so he finds himself begrudgingly agreeing to let the other man move in. Neither of them have any way of knowing just what they've gotten themselves into as they shake on the matter, but time will tell.

The United Kingdom isn't so united anymore. Rebellions nobody can even remember the cause of, cause panic throughout what's left of Great Britain. The Government have one too many secrets and Dan Howell is about to know them all. Of course, it isn't his fault his dad's an egotistical liar and his mum's a sociopath. And it definitely is not his fault he was captured by the Rebels. However, it was completely his fault when a super-advanced highly dangerous humanoid species begins slowly taking over. Oops? Just for clarification: this is a Phan (Danisnotonfire x AmazingPhil) fic! Disclaimer: I don't own any of these people because that would be slavery and slavery is illegal, also I'm not that rich. None of the events in this story actually happened (duh) and Phan is (apparently) not real. Enjoy!
