Tale of an Anguished Heart

Do you believe that you are either born simple or you are born complex? And if so, do you think that should define who you are?
James believes you are either simple or complex since birth. There is no middle ground and no changing who you are. That every simple person needs a complex person. They balance each other out. He is simple. Or at least he believes he is. He says he knows how to handle those that are complex. Until he meet the most complex person of all. Giselle. But he believes he can handle her. Will it last or will it crumble in front of his eyes?
Giselle is anything but easy to deal with. She has no filter and will use anyone to get what she wants. She goes against everything her parents want and sees people as pawns in her game of chess. But is there a reason for this? A reason for her complexity? I mean, James gives her the benefit of the doubt. I guess the real question is... can you?
Flynn is nothing but a cocky son of a bitch. He hides behind he top athlete exterior, lets everyone believe he's perfect. But the truth is that he runs. When things begin to crumble in front of him, he runs away. And he runs fast. But after running away from his past, he runs into someone mysterious. Someone impossible to read, yet easy to fluster. Will he stay just this once? For someone he desperately wants to crack?
Lets see how their stories cross each other. How they become;
The Transformed.
The Puppet Master.
The Broken.
So the questions I have for you are:
Are you simple or complex?
And can you truly forgive and forget?
(Story one of a three story "book".)
Also this has mature themes in it such as death, suicide, abuse, manipulation, and strong language. So this is your trigger warning.
Please don't read if any of that can potentially trigger you.
