Spock is a half Vulcan-half human entering his third year at the star fleet academy. Ever since he was a child Spock was bullied for being different, and it would be completely illogical to think this year would be any different. James Tiberius Kirk is a human troublemaker who is transferring to star fleet academy after causing one too many fights in his last academy. He is very bright and is convinced that this year will be his final, despite it being a four year course. With this year their most challenging by far, Spock and Jim will learn to depend on each other more then either if them thought they could ever depend on another. They knew from the first time their eyes met there was a bond, but will it be enough? Earth, mid 22nd century. Anything not human is not only shunned, but locked up and either executed in the most painful ways possible, tortured to death or simply left to rot in a cell. All extraterrestrial life know the risks of getting too close to earth, and considering humans are currently content staying on earth and no longer venture into space, earth is simply avoided at all costs. A young Vulcan named Spock searches space for his older brother, Sybok, who has been missing for almost 18 months. After his small ship is damaged he crashes - straight into earth. By some twist of fate he hits the middle of a farm in Iowa owned by young James T. Kirk. Curiosity for Spock overpowers Jim's fear of the Council and as the pair grow closer he begins to recall what his life was like before the tragedy that struck his life so many years before, leaving him completely alone. Maybe, just maybe, he doesn't have to be alone anymore.

When Spock returns from an away mission gone horribly wrong, Kirk realizes how much his first officer meant to him, how much responsibility he has not only over his crew's life, but their livelihoods, and struggles to help Spock pick up the pieces. June 2015 #JustWriteIt challenge
