Step back in time to a historical romance in 1878 and meet the Ainsworth family, the Wilner boys, a handsome farm hand, vivacious housekeeper, and the Baughmans. Experience heartbreak, humor, and romance side-by-side with Ellen Ainsworth, a heartbroken pioneer woman who is pushed into being a nanny just three months after a tragedy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ " I bent down to the wooden floor, lifted up my bed skirt and pulled out a small chest, then pulled out a perfectly cream-colored envelope with my mailing information carefully printed onto the front center. I felt myself tear up, but I swallowed back the tears and pulled the letter out of the already opened envelope. I re-read the letter for the first time in a few months, and the words remained the same. I felt myself fall apart. I clutched the letter to my chest and exhaled shakily. My hair was an absolute mess, as well as my clothes. "I had another dream about you." I said into the emptiness of my bedroom, "It felt so real like I could reach out and feel you. But then I re-lived it all again, and I woke up in a panic." There was no reply, so I continued to speak, "but I miss you dearly, and I wish you'd come back if there was a way." I felt myself starting to choke up into tears. "No more of that, Ellie," I chastised myself, the let a breath go out slowly. A small tear trickled down my cheek, and I quickly wiped it away. At the age of nineteen, everything is perfect: the man of her dreams, supportive parents, and enough happiness to fill an ocean. Fresh from his internship, Henry Connors plans to become a big city doctor, but will that agree with Meredith's small-town lifestyle? And what of Marcus Brian, what part will he play in all this? (Mature because of violence and possible language)
