There's lots of stories about us out there. For some reason, everyone seems to think that we have beautiful singing voices and long, golden hair. The thing is, mermaids aren't like that. We're covered in scales, we don't sing, and we certainly don't let ourselves get caught by humans. I didn't choose to become like this, but it's just the way things are. As time goes on, my transformation from human to mermaid becomes permanent, and I won't be able to live on land anymore. I have to get help, but I don't know if there's enough time left.
