This short story is told from a Journal; written by a man named Geoffrey Ward, A young scientist, residing in Tyneham, England during the 1700's. Geoffrey Ward was a simple man who lived a rough, barbaric life. Ward quickly found that times are shifting and he is running out of time. Ward lives in a small home that he had personally built and designed. He lives with his 2 children, Brine and Edwin; ages 8 and 9. Upon completion of the home, Ward remained in his studies, trying to erase the death of his wife Allyson from his mind. He takes on the professions of Science and Architecture, which brings him release from his past. Ward, having grown up an only child of a single mother, took life under his arms, and tried to bury it. Abused, forgotten, and decaying within the soul, Ward managed to escape the harsh reality in which he lived. Now he is on his own, 25 years later, mentally disturbed, rotted from within.
