After his mother dies, Yuri Katsuki gives up the life of ice skating once and for all and lives in a world of monochrome without any brightness or color. The male now has his main focus on his best friends, Minami and Yurio, until, one day, a boy changes everything for him. Viktor Nikiforov, one of the top skaters in Russia, brings him back into a world of color by showing him the arts of skating but in a different form. A form that is free, not molded. As Viktor continues to uplift Yuri into this new world, Yuri soon realizes he has fallen for him.

Soulmate. The word had an important meaning for Victor nikiforov. To him it meant someone that would be by his side, someone that would love him wholly and unconditionally, and he was certain that his soulmate was the most beautiful, kind, and intelligent being on the planet that would make him happy for the rest of his life. He had met the man the night before and it was just his luck that Viktor was drunk.
